SKILLS IMMIGRATION REGISTRATION SYSTEM

The Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS) is a dynamic intake management system that allows the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) to prioritize candidates for provincial nomination to the province.

The tool below is the SIRS Calculator, which allows you to assess your score under the SIRS by answering a set of simple questions. Users should note that, at this time, all BC PNP immigration categories that are subject to the SIRS require candidates to accept an offer of indeterminate, full-time employment from a B.C. employer.

Do you have an offer of indeterminate, full-time employment from an employer in British Columbia?

At this time, candidates for provincial nomination through the BC PNP must have either an offer of indeterminate, full-time employment from an employer in British Columbia OR a graduate degree from a B.C. university in the natural, applied or health sciences.

Individuals who have obtained a graduate degree from a B.C. university in one of the fields listed below may be eligible to apply for provincial nomination through the BC PNP without first obtaining a job offer from a B.C. employer.

  • Agriculture
  • Biological and biomedical sciences
  • Computer and information sciences and support services
  • Engineering
  • Engineering technology
  • Health professions and related clinical sciences
  • Mathematics and statistics
  • Natural resources conversation and research
  • Physical sciences

The BC PNP provides immigration options under the International Post-Graduate stream through both its Skills Immigration and Express Entry categories. In both cases, potential candidates are not assessed according to the "Skills Immigration Registration System" (SIRS). Candidates under the International Post-Graduate category are not required to make an Expression of Interest to the BC PNP, and are not required to receive an Invitation to Apply before submitting an application to the BC PNP.
